Supported by the World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA) We have brought you news of students building friendships while learning Korean and warm culture at the JOYFUL Center in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The Almaty JOYFUL Center Korean language class is divided into morning and afternoon classes, and a total of 33 students showed up brightly and continued their enthusiasm for learning.
In particular, this class provides a meaningful cultural experience to learn the meaning of ‘Chuseok’, which has recently been a major holiday in Korea.
Although it is an unfamiliar holiday locally, students had time to naturally understand Korean sentiment by learning about the origins and customs of Chuseok.
In the special activity that followed, although it was not Songpyeon, students had a fun experience making their own Korean food.
The students' earnest eyes and clumsy hands as they carefully placed rice and ingredients on top of the seaweed and carefully rolled it filled the classroom with laughter.
By sharing the kimbap they had made themselves, the students deeply shared not only language but also warm emotions and culture.
To the students of Almaty JOYFUL Center who go beyond simple language acquisition to understand each other through culture and grow their dreams toward a wider world. We ask for your continued interest and warm encouragement from supporting members.
"Learning new languages and cultures and sharing food together are valuable foundations for children to understand others and expand their horizons.
WECA will continue to provide generous educational and cultural support in the field so that students can discover their potential through the joy of learning and grow into global talents."
