The World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA) has begun providing emergency relief support to children and families in the Geoje area of Gyeongsangnam-do who suffered flood damage due to sudden heavy rain.

This support went beyond simple delivery of goods and focused on preventing learning gaps by comprehensively restoring the residential and educational environment of children destroyed by the disaster.

On September 9th, an award ceremony was held at the Geoje Office of Education, and 10 million won in educational donations were delivered to affected students in urgent need of stabilization and recovery. 

In addition, 55 middle and high school students who lost their school supplies and belongings due to the flood will receive 5 million won worth of new school bags and other items to help them continue their studies stably. Educational supplies were provided.

In addition, in connection with a local children's center, we directly excavated three flood-damaged homes with severe flooding and mold damage. 

Replacing the entire wallpaper and flooring according to the situation of each household, replacing a flooded sink and washing machine, and renovating the study room, including damaged desks and bookshelves (total KRW 15 million) scale) is being rapidly progressed.

We ask for your warm interest and support so that children in the Geoje area who suffered from overnight floods can focus on their studies again in a comfortable home.
