[Overseas] Cambodia Ratanakiri WECA Language School and Kindergarten N…

Overseas 2026. 09. 08 09:56

Supported by the World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA) Cambodia Ratanakiri WECA Khapier Kindergarten & Language School News of serious flooding caused by sudden heavy rain was reported.

The nearby Sesan River overflowed after several days of record-breaking rain, destroying the kindergarten and school where children were studying. The language school building was completely submerged in water.

Due to this flooding, the children's precious learning center will be temporarily closed and classes will be suspended for at least two weeks. I went in.

Unfortunately, not only the desks and chairs, school supplies, and educational equipment in the classroom, but even the solar system that supplied power (solar power generation facility) were all washed away in the muddy water. There was damage.

A teacher who was helping with emergency recovery work at the site suffered a torn forehead and received stitching treatment.

Fortunately, there were no further casualties, but it will take a lot of time and effort to rearrange the building and restore the damaged facilities after the water has completely receded. This is the reality.

We ask for the warm interest and urgent help of our sponsoring members so that the children of Capir Village, who lost their learning place overnight, can return to the classroom and continue studying without despairing. Please.

"The children's learning place and all their furniture were lost due to the flood that occurred overnight. Although they have drifted away, the children's dreams and hearts for learning cannot be submerged.

WECA will do our best to provide on-site support so that Kapair Kindergarten and language school can be safely restored as soon as possible so that children can smile and study again."
