‘Blooming Youth’ with 6 hearing-impaired youthFirst class
This program is conducted over a total of 5 sessions with a professional florist instructor, and is a process of making various works such as flower bouquets, flower baskets, centerpieces, flower boxes, and flower gardening. Configured.
In particular, sign language and text interpretation was provided during classes so that participating young people could fully understand the instructor's explanations and participate in the activities comfortably.
World Educational Cultural Aid Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, “It is important for hearing-impaired young people to discover their interests and potential through various experiences, without being excluded from cultural and leisure activities due to communication limitations. We hope that ‘Blooming Youth’ will be a time to present new experiences and joys to young people and allow their own possibilities to blossom.”
Participants looked at flowers and materials and learned step by step from how to trim flowers to arranging flowers considering the harmony of color and shape and completing a bouquet.
At first, we moved our hands carefully, wondering how to arrange the flowers, but as the class continued, we began to select and arrange flowers based on our own tastes and sensibilities. Even if the same flowers and materials were used, bouquets with different atmospheres were created, allowing us to see the individuality and expression of each participant.
This first class went beyond simply making bouquets, allowing hearing-impaired youth to experience a new culture. It was a time to directly experience the activities and express one's senses and thoughts through works.
World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to work with hearing-impaired young people through ‘Blooming Youth’ so that they can discover new interests and possibilities by experiencing various florist activities.
Please pay a lot of attention to the special flower stories of young people in the future.
