The clear singing voices of children resound at Wat Phra Chakasem School, located at the foot of a mountain in Chiang Mai, Thailand. From the first to the second week of March, the World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA) choir students worked hard preparing for the upcoming special performance.
This practice was prepared for the graduation ceremony commemorative performance scheduled for March 20th. This is because our choir friends were invited to the graduation ceremony of the larger of the two Wat Phra Chakasem schools, located 20 minutes up the mountain. The children work with a serious attitude every day, from practicing vocalization to catch their breath to practicing the graduation song.
It's been a while since I started working in the choir, so I'm still clumsy and awkward at harmonizing, but I'm devoting myself to practice because I want to give a wonderful gift to my older brothers and sisters who are graduating. In the process of opening their mouths wide to make sounds and listening to each other's voices, children are gradually creating harmony.
Bang Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the World Educational Cultural Aid, said, “It may be an awkward first step, but the process of working together and working together will become the foundation for great growth for the children. I hope that the children’s heartfelt songs that will ring out on the graduation ceremony stage will provide warm comfort and encouragement to everyone.”
The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to provide continuous support to help children develop their artistic sensitivity, learn the joy of being together, and grow healthily through choir activities.
