Members of the 2nd WECA Supporters carried out plogging volunteer work in the Anyangcheon area. The members walked around the river, picked up trash, and conveyed the message that small actions in daily life have the power to protect the environment. As the trails became cleaner, it was a time to reflect on the meaning of environmental conservation.
As I took one step at a time holding the tongs and bag, the trash I had passed by without notice caught my eye. The members shared the value of learning through action, saying, “I felt closer to environmental issues when I picked them up myself.” The drops of sweat contained both a love for nature and a sense of responsibility.
Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, "Education does not stay only in the classroom. Practicing to protect life is also valuable education. I hope that today's plogging will be a living learning experience about the importance of the environment."
Under the philosophy that ‘education is life,’ the World Educational Cultural Aid continues to engage in various activities that connect learning with life. We will continue to create a better world through everyday action together with WECA supporters.
