This is news from the completion ceremony of the girls’ dormitory at WECA Kasanda We School in Uganda.
In Uganda, known as the world's poorest country, there are many children in the Kasanda region who are unable to receive education due to a lack of schools.
The World Educational Cultural Aid supports education by building a school for children who desperately need educational opportunities.
However, many children gave up on education because the distance was too far and commuting to school was difficult.
In particular, female students may walk a long way to school due to the risk of sexual violence.
I couldn't even find a place to stay near the school.
So, we built a women's dormitory so that children living far away can also receive education.
The child, who lived more than 200km away, said he was very happy to be able to move into the dormitory this time and expressed his gratitude to WECA's sponsors.
In the future, we will work hard to ensure that more children can receive education in a good environment.
