[Overseas] News about WECA Korean language class in Bukhara, Uzbekista…

Overseas 2026. 04. 24 09:48

The Bukhara region of Uzbekistan is a dry region that does not usually rain, but this year it is receiving unusually heavy rain.

As a result, the road to and from the WECA Korean language class has turned into a muddy mess, causing great inconvenience to children on their way to and from school.

Additionally, the sudden wet weather has increased the number of pests around the center, raising concerns about children's health.

However, even in these difficult circumstances, children's passion for learning has not waned at all.

In this class, in which 15 beginner and intermediate Korean students participated, they used Seoul National University's Korean language textbooks to learn about traditional Korean culture under the theme, 'Eat rice cake soup instead of rice on New Year's Day.'

I had a meaningful time learning grammar that expresses changes in status (-ah/eo jida, -gae-da).

In just a month, May, when the school vacation begins, is approaching.

Although it is a busy time with end-of-semester school events, we will spare no effort in providing careful encouragement and support so that our students can finish the remaining semester well without giving up.

The World Educational Cultural Aid will do its best to quarantine the site and maintain facilities so that children can focus on their studies in a safe and comfortable environment.

“Even when it rains and the roads become rough, children’s steps toward learning do not stop.

“We will carefully look into even the smallest inconveniences in the field and make improvements so that students in Bukhara can learn Korean in a comfortable and safe environment and plan a greater future.”

— Bang Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the World Educational Cultural Aid

The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to provide field-centered educational support and environmental improvement activities so that children can design a bright future without missing out on educational opportunities in any environment.
