Children's exciting Korean language class has taken its first step at the Kapi language school of the Cambodia Ratanakiri branch of the World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA).
A total of 18 elementary school children participated in this class and shared the joy of learning a new language.
This day's class was designed to learn the most basic yet important Korean greetings and self-introduction expressions.
Children gradually learn the sentences “Hello” and “My name is…” and practice calling each other’s names affectionately in Korean.
Next, basic alphabet learning was conducted to understand the basic structure of Hangul.
Combination of basic vowels 'ㅏ, ㅓ, ㅗ, ㅜ' and consonants 'ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ' The children who learned the principle participated in the "Write your name in Korean" activity in a crooked but sincere way.
Looking at their Korean name written directly on the whiteboard and notebook. Proud smiles bloomed on the children's faces.
Despite being a new language they encountered for the first time, the children at Kapi Language School showed great curiosity and anticipation about learning Korean and immersed themselves in the class.
The deep passion and hope as if they were singing about tomorrow to the wider world were conveyed in the loud voices of the children who filled the classroom reading the pronunciation out loud.
We are sincerely grateful to our supporting members who serve as a strong bridge so that children from minority villages can develop global capabilities without losing learning opportunities even in harsh environments.
"We see future global talent communicating across borders in the eyes of children learning a new language.
WECA will continue to faithfully expand education support projects so that children in underprivileged areas of Ratanakiri can face wider opportunities through education."
