“Children have a hard time living in a ‘learning crisis’ that is causing poverty to be passed down from generation to generation.”
About 3 hours away by car from the capital of Kenya (Nairobi), there is the Maasai village of Lumbwa.

The Maasai are widely known as a courageous tribe that rejects modern civilization and lives by maintaining their own traditions. However, recently, due to global warming, the Masai tribe's habitat has become increasingly barren, threatening their livelihood. They are in a situation where they have no choice but to choose coexistence with modern civilization.
In this deep mountain village, which can only be reached by passing a 10km unpaved road, there are many children who live a difficult life without opportunities to learn.
▷ Children who have to walk to school 12km away. There are many children left in the village who envy even this step.
Learning opportunities are essential for children who have no choice but to choose to coexist with modern civilization. However, it is not easy to get that learning opportunity.
Hope for children, Canaan Academy Primary School
Canaan Academy Primary School is the only school in the Maasai village of Lumbwa and is the only learning opportunity for children.

Like schools in Kenya that follow the British school system, Canaan Academy Primary SchoolKindergarten, elementary school, and middle school are located together in one primary school. In Korea, there are three entrance and graduation ceremonies: kindergarten, elementary school, and middle school, but herePrimary SchoolOnce you enroll, you will study for a total of 11 years (minimum 9 years) and finally have one graduation ceremony.Canaan Academy Primary SchoolCurrently, there are approximately 320 students in 11 classes (9 classrooms) and 14 teachers, including the principal.

When schools were first opened, parents did not send their children to continue raising goats or cows. We visited each person individually and informed them of the importance of education. Three to four years after starting their studies, the children began to speak English and Swahili and began to adapt to modern civilization. As parents watched their children grow, they began sending them to school. Still, in some cases, parents let their children raise cows, but it often happens that the children who raised cows run away from home and go to school after seeing changes in their friends.

Most families live in large families with an average of 6 children, all of whom are of school age, so they face great difficulties with living expenses as well as school fees. There are many students who drop out of school because they cannot pay tuition. Due to such circumstances, I cannot even think of buying textbooks and school supplies.
▷ The reality is that many students have no choice but to study together with one book. I would like to give a book to these children.
In particular, textbooks are very expensive in Kenya. This is because it is not supplied directly by the government, but is sold at designated bookstores. Textbooks and other books are also very expensive. So, not a single student in a rural school like this one buys their own textbooks. Two or three students can read one book together. I get through the semester with just one notebook and school supplies. Even though everything is lacking, students still come to school because learning is fun.
▷ When you come to school, you will need one meal. With a small amount of government support, the children are able to afford one meal. However, because the subsidy is not constant, children often return home hungry.
Starting with the first graduates in 2012, a total of 51 people graduated last year in 2014, including the 3rd graduating class. Now, at the end of November this year, 10 more graduates of the 4th class will be born. Although it is very difficult for children to enter high school, we sincerely hope that they can achieve their dreams.
“For the future of Africa, we need precious sharing for our children!”
Please send books and school supplies to children in Kenya, Africa. In a difficult environment, the children are learning the hard way by sharing what they have with each other without complaining. Please provide hope to these bright children so that they can receive a richer education.

▷ With the precious donations of our sponsors, we delivered invaluable books and school supplies to children.
World Educational Cultural Aid WECAis at Canaan Academy Primary School. We will ensure that more children can come out and study and that they do not lose the opportunity to learn. Please join us!

▷ School supplies were delivered in pencil pouches created through the “Package Campaign,” a participatory donation campaign of the World Educational Cultural Aid WECA. Children prefer a pencil from Korea to school supplies purchased locally. I believe that this one pencil will help children draw their future.
