March is a month when the sky is rising and spring is in full swing. By this time, it's a new semester. “Let’s put on our new shoes and run!” It may be the season to do it, but we have not yet escaped the COVID-19 pandemic that has fatally hit our daily lives around the world. At this time, all of our hearts freeze. In times like these, the World Educational Cultural Aid wants to do our best to help those around us who are experiencing greater difficulties.
Yes~! The World Educational Cultural Aid collects sipshi rice every winter!! Rice collected diligently since November last winter. A variety of rice was collected from all over the country, brought in, carried, delivered by courier, and delivered by express. And in early February, with the beginning of spring, we opened a warehouse for the rice bags we had been collecting. This rice will now become a warm meal for children who most need daily food and will grow beautifully.

Now, where should we visit first? An education center located in Incheon. A place where children aged 2 to 13 gather. It's 6:30 when mom and dad go to work. When I return, it’s 10pm. The sounds of children laughing and crying are loud from morning. Most Koryo people, who are descendants of independence activists, are raising their children through hard labor even after returning to their homeland. Our Koryo children do not understand the language, so when they go to regular schools, they cannot keep up with the learning progress, so they are always left out and withdrawn. So we got together!! These friends study Russian and Korean at the same time. Even if I go slowly, I want to learn Korea properly.

If you study hard, you are bound to get hungry. That's why the World Educational Cultural Aid prepared it. “I hope you eat a lot, grow up, study hard, and learn about Korea well, friends!!” Seeing the rice piled up in abundance, our children must have been so excited that they jumped up and down in the classroom, then came out into the hallway and threw themselves into the rice bags.

This is my second visit. This is a mother and child garden located in Guro-gu. This is a place where about 20 families, including single-parent families and single mother families, live together. Mothers who also have to take on the role of fathers have to work two to three times more diligently to take care of their children, work outside, and take care of the household. However, with just a whisper from their children that they love them, the tiring daily life can melt away like snow. For our mothers who are handling the role of superwoman, the World Educational Cultural Aid has come to the rescue to relieve their worries about stock supply.

Finally, this is our third visit. It is an alternative school that educates out-of-school youth and North Korean defector youth. Teachers who dream together with children have come to our World Educational Cultural Aid to help children realize that there is a better future, to live without giving up or criticizing themselves, to take on more challenges, and to grow their dreams. This rice of love will be used as school meals at educational sites. In addition, we will distribute one meal a day to each family of alternative school children to help them in some small way.

When we become adults and live busy lives, we miss the home-cooked meals our mothers made when we were young and use that power to share our love. Just as the Rice of Love delivered by the World Educational Cultural Aid provides warm food to our children. I hope that this one meal becomes a warm memory and that you become an adult who returns that love later. In this way, WECA, the World Educational Cultural Aid, put love into practice by delivering 1,900 kg of rice to the Korean Children's Education Center, mother and child center, alternative school, and vulnerable families.
The World Educational Cultural Aid supports the beautiful growth of our children with rice collected with sincerity.
