WE-Water, a stream of hope extending to Tanzania

Domestic 2022. 06. 15 13:41

In Tanzania, a country located in eastern Africa, most places do not have running water facilities. So, a water bottle is a must for children walking on dry dirt roads under the blue sky.

This is because the school does not have running water or even a well, so we have to fetch water from a well near our house and carry it with us.

Accordingly, the World Educational Cultural Aid selected two schools in Tanzania that desperately needed wells and launched the WE-Water campaign to install wells and water pumps.

The World Educational Cultural Aid carried out construction of wells and water pumps at two schools, VIKANGGARA Elementary School and KIGUZA Elementary School, for three months since October last year.

As a result, 7,400 nearby residents, including 1,850 students, were able to turn on the tap and drink cool well water without having to worry about drawing water from a well.

On the day when the well was completed and the water tap was first opened, hundreds of students gathered near the tap.

Eventually, when the faucet was turned and a large stream of water burst out, the children all shouted together.

The WE-Water campaign presented a stream of hope to children and residents of Tanzania.
