Natural physiological phenomenon causes hurt and pain to some people
Six years have passed since the shocking story of the insole sanitary pad became known. Nevertheless, the number of stories of children suffering physical and mental injuries due to lack of continuous support for female adolescents has not decreased. Children who are unable to buy sanitary pads because they have difficulty making a living due to insufficient basic living expenses, children who are sensitive enough to ask for sanitary pads at the health room, and children who live with grandparents or male family members and are reluctant to ask to buy sanitary pads. Deep wounds and pain exist in the hearts of those children due to natural physiological phenomena.
  • Empathizing with the pain of low-income female adolescents
Many sponsors sympathized with the stories of low-income female teenagers who were experiencing difficulties. A donation of KRW 9,507,400 arrived from Happy Bean sponsors, and global beauty brand Lancome provided a matching donation of KRW 4,000,000. In this way, a total of 13,507,400 won in donations was collected, and we were able to prepare sanitary pad kits for 590 female adolescents from low-income families in Korea.
  • The experience of holding hands together and spreading hope to others
The prepared sanitary pad kits were delivered to 590 low-income single-parent families and female adolescents through the Korea Single-parent Family Welfare Facility Association, Geumcheon-gu Office, and the Migrant Social Cooperative. Among them, a beautiful handwritten letter arrived from a single-parent family that received sanitary pads. As a family with a mother and several daughters, there was always a shortage of sanitary pads and the family was struggling financially. This news was of great help. It was a happy letter that confirmed that if we work together, we can bring hope to someone in need. The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to do its best to help children and youth at home and abroad grow brightly and healthily.
