At around 10 a.m. on April 11, 2023, a fire broke out in the mountains of Nangok-dong, Gangneung, and due to strong winds, the flames soon spread to the vicinity of Gyeongpodae.
Upon hearing the news of the forest fire, the World Educational Cultural Aid immediately rushed to the scene to investigate the situation in more detail. Fortunately, the light rain that fell in the afternoon made the extinguishing work easier, but firefighters were unable to leave the scene of the fire. This is because the risk of a secondary fire may remain in the rising smoke.
We call a person a hero who jumps into a place where everyone else is running away from danger. Thanks to firefighters, our children can grow up receiving education in a safe environment.
The World Educational Cultural Aid would like to provide cheering kits for the firefighters who silently worked hard to extinguish the fire, shedding precious drops of sweat. The support kit will be filled with red ginseng, multivitamins, nutritional foods, etc. Even at this hour, firefighters are rushing to extinguish the remaining embers. Please express your gratitude to them. The World Educational Cultural Aid will do its best to ensure that our sponsors’ donations are put to good use.
