In the trash town of Tondo, where even a sip of water to drink or a glass of water to wash is scarce, sanitary pads are a huge luxury. Children who do not have decent clothes use dirty cloths or old underwear instead of sanitary pads. If you do not use sanitary pads, you run the risk of developing skin diseases and serious sexually transmitted diseases. However, children in trash villages do not even know what proper sanitary pads are. You go through a painful menstrual period without knowing why you have a fever or pain, or why you keep itching.
So the World Educational Cultural Aid provided clean hygiene products to girls. We also instilled correct gender concepts in children and provided health education for hygiene. The education was divided into four parts: having a healthy sexual identity, menstruation and cleanliness education, contraception education, and the value of life and the importance of family planning. Through sex education, which no one had previously taught children, they are now able to properly learn about and prevent sex.
Thanks to the continued interest of our sponsors, we were able to provide healthy education and hygiene products to children. thank you Children from Tondo, Philippines, who have a connection with the World Educational Cultural Aid, can continue to dream and live safely today.
