[Overseas] News from WECA Tondo Language School in the Philippines

Overseas 2024. 11. 06 09:38

News from WECA Tondo Language School in the Philippines.

At Language School, 35 children are growing and pursuing their dreams. Here, children learn English and Tagalog, and receive basic math education as well as art and hygiene education.

Children living in Tondo Village, also known as Garbage Village, make a living with the little money they earn by segregating garbage. So, not only is there a shortage of education expenses, but also everyday food expenses.

The word ‘pakpak’ in the Philippines refers to food that is eaten by reclaiming food from garbage, and many people in Tondo village eat this food because they cannot endure hunger. This cycle of poverty continues to extend to children, and education is essential to break the cycle, but it is difficult.

The World Educational Cultural Aid has established a language school for children in Tondo Village and is providing basic education. Thanks to the warm hearts of our sponsors, the children do not lose hope and smile even in difficult circumstances. In the future, the World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to provide support in various ways to help children in Tondo Village, Philippines, become independent. We ask for your continued interest and support.
