[Overseas] News about planting trees of hope in Kenya’s wastelands

Overseas 2024. 12. 16 10:36

Kenya is experiencing repeated droughts and floods due to climate change. Desertification of wastelands and semi-arid areas is becoming increasingly serious. This climate crisis has a greater impact on poorer countries. It can be especially harsh on children. This is because an environment where there are no trees to block the sandstorm blowing from the wasteland increases the risk of bronchial disease and eye disease in children, and forces them to be educated in an unclean environment.

The World Educational Cultural Aid started ‘Planting Trees of Hope’ to give Kenyan children a hopeful future. Small and delicate saplings were planted in the barren land, and the children burst into laughter when they saw them. We hope that the small seedlings become small seeds for children's health and a hopeful future.

Kenyan children have a great passion for education. There are many children who walk long distances to attend classes. However, the road is a wasteland without a single tree, exposed to the hot sun and sandstorm. A tree is very precious to children, now and in the future. Please give the gift of hope, a tree, to create a better tomorrow for Kenyan children.
