From April 11 to 21, 2025, the World Educational Cultural Aid visited Addis Ababa and Dilla regions in Ethiopia to conduct field research on KOICA public-private cooperation incubation. This field investigation was a valuable time to comprehensively investigate the education, sanitation, and support environment for the disabled and explore possibilities for future cooperation.

Starting with an official meeting with the KOICA Ethiopia office, we conducted a full-scale field survey. We visited Future Star School in Dilla and had a preliminary meeting with local researchers to share the direction of the survey and interview research.

Afterwards, we visited eight schools located throughout Dilla and conducted student surveys and interviews with principals and teachers. By listening directly to the stories of students with disabilities and their parents, I was able to understand their difficulties. We also visited the Dilla Waterworks Department and the Office of Education to check the status of drinking water and sanitation infrastructure.

In addition, we explored possibilities for future cooperation through meetings with NGOs and organizations active in the region.

Through this business trip to Ethiopia, I felt that international development cooperation begins with seeing the sites firsthand and listening to the stories of beneficiaries. The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to listen to voices from the field and make small changes for a sustainable future.
