At WECA School No. 17 in Myanmar, new construction is underway to rebuild classrooms that were destroyed by a recent typhoon and earthquake.
For children who have lost a safe place to learn, 13 workers are working together to lay the foundation of the school day by day, including laying foundation bricks and weaving rebar.
Currently, the foundation brickwork is in the final stage, and the foundation beam rebar weaving and sand filling work is scheduled to begin in earnest from tomorrow.
The process is not easy as it is difficult for aggregate vehicles to reach the site, but everyone is quietly guarding the site with the mindset of “let’s give the classroom back to the children.”
Bang Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the World Educational Cultural Aid, said, "Rebuilding a collapsed classroom is rebuilding the future and safety of children. The warm hearts of our sponsors are a great help in the field."
The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue construction responsibly until the end to complete strong and safe classrooms so that children will no longer have to study in dangerous spaces.
