[Overseas] Burkina Faso WECA Taekwondo Class News

Overseas 2025. 12. 11 00:00

In Burkina Faso, opportunities for sports and cultural education are very limited, so there is not a sufficient environment for children to learn basic physical fitness, good posture, and self-protection skills. WECA Taekwondo classes, operated against this background, provide children with a valuable learning experience that helps them grow both physically and mentally. Currently, about 120 students, including 1st and 2nd year middle school students and those wishing to advance to the advanced level, are participating in Taekwondo classes twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday). On Wednesday, classes were focused on the lower grades, and the 15 children in the nursery class also had a lively time learning together. In the class, we provide a wide range of instruction, from basic knowledge education to correct posture correction, basic skills, and self-defense techniques, and students who lack basic physical posture gradually improve through individual correction.

Recently, the total number of participants decreased slightly as some classes were excluded from Saturday classes due to preparation for graduation exams, but thanks to this, class concentration actually increased. Senior students also had time to check their own skills by conducting a blue belt (level 6) self-evaluation.

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, “Taekwondo is an excellent education that develops discipline and confidence in children at the same time. Thanks to the interest of our sponsors, the children are growing more confidently.”

The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to support Taekwondo education so that children in Burkina Faso can grow up safely and healthily.
