The World Educational Cultural Aid's Southeast Asia business trip team visited Bataan Angel Garden School, a new business site in the Philippines, and delivered school supplies to 152 students. Colorful WECA bags filled the auditorium, and the children smiled brightly as they received their new school supplies.
Angels Garden School is a school officially approved by the Philippine Ministry of Education, but is in urgent need of expansion due to a lack of classroom space compared to the increasing number of students. We operate cultural education programs such as Taekwondo and choir, but there were concerns about continued operation due to a lack of stable finances. Nevertheless, the school was convinced that “culture and the arts have a great positive impact on children,” and actively hoped to cooperate with WECA, so they officially signed a business agreement (MOU) during this visit. In the future, both organizations plan to continue joint support to improve educational and cultural programs and learning environments.
The visiting team also participated in a free meal program for Aeta children, an indigenous community in the Philippines. It was a time to reaffirm the urgency of education and nutritional support by directly facing the vulnerable reality that the Aita community experiences, such as poor living conditions, low hygiene standards, and early childbirth.
CEO Bang Jeong-hwan said, “A set of school supplies gives children ‘hope to continue studying.’ Sponsors’ interest and love are the power that brightens the future of Filipino children.”
The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to prepare various support measures so that children in the Bataan region and Aita community can learn and grow in a better environment.
