[Overseas] News on providing emergency relief supplies to families aff…

Overseas 2026. 01. 19 09:00

In December 2025, large-scale floods and landslides occurred in the northern Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra regions of Indonesia, resulting in many casualties and significant damage to houses, roads, and educational facilities. The collapse of roads and transportation networks made it difficult to access relief supplies, threatening the livelihoods of affected families and the learning environment for children.

In this urgent situation, the World Educational Cultural Aid helped alleviate the immediate livelihood crisis by delivering relief goods such as food and daily necessities to 60 affected families. In particular, we provided school supplies to children whose education was interrupted due to disaster, minimizing gaps in education and helping children sit at their desks again.

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, "The first thing to collapse in a disaster is the children's daily life and learning. Our sponsors' hearts are helping to alleviate the crisis in their livelihoods and give children the strength to resume their studies."

The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to support the urgent recovery of life and the continuation of learning alongside our neighbors and children suffering from disasters.
