In many regions of Kyrgyzstan, opportunities for cultural and artistic education are very limited, and there is not even a space where children can experience singing, musical instruments, and art. In this environment, the World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA) is providing children in the Karakol region with a valuable cultural experience called choral education.
20 children participated in the Dream Choir class held on December 2nd. What is especially noticeable is that they actively practice singing Korean songs more excitedly than Kyrgyz or Russian songs. The children were having fun practicing and helping each other memorize the lyrics, and were building confidence in anticipation of the day they would stand on stage.
Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, "Culture and arts education is an important channel to open children's minds and connect them with the world. Seeing children express their dreams and gain confidence through choir, I reaffirm the path WECA should take."
The children expressed their deep gratitude to the sponsors, saying, “I am happiest when I sing,” and “Memorizing Korean songs is difficult but fun.” Sponsors' interest provides children with learning, joy, and the courage to move forward into a new world.
WECA plans to continue providing more stages and learning opportunities to Kyrgyz children who lack cultural education opportunities. We ask for your warm companionship so that the children can continue to sing and grow.
