[Overseas] Myanmar WECA Mae Taung Yua Language School News

Overseas 2025. 11. 24 00:00

In Myanmar, many children still find it difficult to receive proper education due to a lack of teachers and textbooks and an unstable learning environment. In a situation where children's futures become narrower as opportunities for learning decrease, the World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA) considers providing children with 'opportunities to learn' as the most urgent task and operates language schools and after-school classes.

On November 22nd, 28 elementary school students attended the after-school class at Mae Taung Yua Language School and conducted supplementary learning from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. We learn a wide range of major subjects such as everyday English, English grammar, Burmese, mathematics, science, and social studies, and for students with low levels of understanding, we carefully fill in the learning gaps through individual guidance. Children gain experiences of self-growth by saying simple expressions in English and resolving difficult math problems.

The children expressed their gratitude, saying, “It’s nice to be able to re-learn things I don’t know here.” This was a small confession that showed how desperate they were for learning, and a moment that proved that education is the most certain force that can change children's lives.

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan expressed his gratitude, saying, “What children who want to continue learning even in difficult environments need the most is opportunity. The interest and love of our sponsors is giving the gift of education to children.”

The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to work with Myanmar children so that they can continue learning in a stable environment without losing their dreams.
