The ‘Dance On’ K-POP dance contest, a cultural communication program for multicultural families in which marriage immigrants and their children participate, was held. This event, held in collaboration with the Inje-gun Family Center and the World Educational Cultural Aid, was designed to help multicultural families understand each other through art and naturally blend in with the local community.
Even before the performance began, the participants prepared for the performance with anticipation by checking the choreography and rehearsing in each team. In this contest, family teams presented K-POP performances that reflected their stories and personalities, and the audience responded with enthusiastic cheers and applause. Excellent teams were selected based on creativity, harmony, and expressiveness, and awards were given. Participants expressed their feelings, saying, “I was happy standing on stage with my family.”
The meaning of the event went beyond a simple contest, to create an experience for parents and children to communicate and bond as a team, and to create a cultural venue where multicultural families could confidently participate in the local community.
Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, "Art is the most beautiful language that helps us understand each other. I was very moved to see families become closer through dance and various cultures come together on one stage. Thanks to our sponsors, this change became possible."
The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to expand educational and cultural programs so that multicultural families can naturally connect with the local community and children can develop confidence in culture and arts.
