The World Educational Cultural Aid provided 100 liters of kerosene to 50 families in Gaemi Village, Hongje-dong, who have difficulty heating in the winter. This activity was carried out with more care and warmth, with volunteers and WECA supporters participating together. Due to the nature of areas where city gas is not available, many households still rely on kerosene to survive the winter, but kerosene is also a burdensome means of heating with relatively little interest and support. This support was designed to provide some relief to the daily lives of neighbors who had to endure the cold winter due to concerns about heating costs. Residents expressed their gratitude, saying, “We needed kerosene the most, but it was difficult to get help,” and that this support was a great help in getting through the winter.
Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, “The less visible the need, the more desperate it is. I believe that kerosene support goes beyond simple fuel, but provides warmth that protects our neighbors during the winter.” The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to look out for our neighbors who are in the blind spot of attention and continue to share with our sponsors to ensure that much-needed support reaches them in a timely manner.
