[Overseas] News on providing school supplies for refugee children in M…

Overseas 2025. 12. 22 09:35

The World Educational Cultural Aid delivered school supplies to Myanmar refugee children who are continuing their education in Mae Sot, the Thai-Myanmar border region. Mae Sot is an area where refugees who crossed the border due to a long-standing conflict and unstable situation live together. There are many temporary residences and informal schools, so the educational environment is very poor. Despite the lack of classrooms, textbooks, and even basic learning tools, children are heading to school every day to not give up on learning.

Through this support, we delivered notebooks, writing materials, and basic learning tools to a total of 200 refugee children, helping them study in a more stable environment. In the process of handing out school supplies one by one, the children put their small hands together and expressed their sincere gratitude, and that image remained in the hearts of everyone present.

The eyes of children who do not give up their will to learn even in difficult environments made me feel once again that education is more than just support, it is a hope that sustains life. For children, school supplies were not just objects, but a starting line that allowed them to move toward tomorrow.

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan expressed his gratitude, saying, "The children of Mae Sot are choosing to learn even in the most unstable environment. The interest and love of our sponsors is giving them the courage to continue learning."

The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to work together to provide educational opportunities to children who are most in need of learning, beyond borders and situations.
