WECA Taekwondo classes are being held at the private Fruit of the Holy Spirit Middle School located in the Bobo region of Burkina Faso. This class is run as part of the school's regular curriculum, and first and second year middle school students as well as those who wish to advance to advanced levels participate.
A total of 120 students in each grade are participating in the Taekwondo class, and 15 students in the kindergarten class are also learning Taekwondo through separate classes. On Wednesdays, you will learn the basics of Taekwondo and basic postures, and on Saturdays, classes will focus on self-defense techniques to protect yourself in emergency situations. Recently, we also independently conducted a Poomsti examination for students in lower grades, so the children had time to check the results of their previous practice.
Class time is always lively. The joy of learning Taekwondo is clearly conveyed by the children's laughter and delight in each and every movement. Although the classroom can sometimes become a bit chaotic, the children are naturally developing concentration and confidence by moving their bodies.
Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, "Taekwondo is more than just a sport, it is an education that helps children learn to respect themselves and control themselves. I hope that children will grow a healthy body and mind through fun learning."
The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to provide continuous educational support through Taekwondo classes so that children can experience the joy of learning through physical activity and develop good character and confidence.
