In the Karakol region of Kyrgyzstan, the Kumnarae Festival was held where people could freely share what they had learned throughout the year. At this festival, the children of Karakol confidently showed off their skills they had honed over the years by performing a Korean play, a Korean children's song chorus, and a Taekwondo performance. Korean pronunciation and movements, which were awkward and unfamiliar at first, now led to clear voices and confident gestures, and the children encouraged each other to complete the performance. Each play, choir, and Taekwondo performance was filled with practice time and children's efforts, and the children's faces on stage were full of pride and joy.

Through WECA's continuous support, children go beyond simply learning skills and gain experiences that allow them to dream and express them. This Kumnarae Festival was a valuable time to convey to children the confidence that ‘they can do it.’

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, “Seeing children express themselves on stage is the most beautiful change that education can bring. This experience will help children pursue their dreams further and longer.”

The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to be with Karakol children so that they can gain confidence through learning and realize their dreams to the fullest.
