Good news has been delivered from Ratanakiri With Home in Cambodia. Kaet, a With Home student and sponsored child, received an award for winning first place in the academic achievement test in January. This is an even more meaningful achievement because it is the result of years of consistent effort.

Another first place winner was born in this exam. Prohat, a 7th grader, is a student who never misses the top spot in every test, and he consistently ranked first this time as well. Additionally, Chantrier, who had always been ranked between 15th and 20th, surprised everyone by leaping to second place this time. The classroom was filled with applause and support from friends.

Prohat and Chantrier were children who were unable to attend school until they were 10 years old due to difficult circumstances, and even had difficulty reading. After meeting WECA and receiving basic education at Koan Kindergarten, I entered With Home and continued learning. And now he is proving his potential with excellent grades representing his grade. This is a moment of ‘family glory’ that goes beyond the children’s individual achievements and makes the entire family and village proud.

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, “Children who have the opportunity to learn have the power to change their own future. I hope that their growth will lead to hope for the community.”
