A sanitation facility support project was carried out to help children grow healthy at Dang Ke Sang Public Elementary School, located on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This school, where about 2,000 elementary school students are enrolled, has suffered from a severe lack of water and sanitation facilities, making it difficult for students to maintain basic hygiene, such as washing their hands.
In hot weather and dusty, harsh environments, hygiene issues have a direct impact on children's health and learning environment. The World Educational Cultural Aid (WECA) fully supported the installation of sinks in schools to improve this poor situation. Through this support, students will be able to form proper hygiene habits by washing their hands with clean water, and all students and faculty will enjoy a safer educational environment.
When I visited Dangkeosang Public Elementary School to check out the completed sink facility, all the students welcomed me with bright smiles. For children who had difficulty even washing their hands, the four sinks installed this time were a precious gift that helped them continue healthy learning. Dankkeosang Public Elementary School expressed their deep gratitude for the children's changed environment and presented a plaque of appreciation to the World Educational Cultural Aid.
Cambodia's future created by a healthy educational environment Clean water is the most basic form of educational support that allows children to focus on their studies without worrying about disease. The sincerity gathered through overseas partnerships and sponsorships serves as a strong foundation for children to develop their dreams in a comfortable environment. The World Educational Cultural Aid plans to continue hygiene improvement projects so that more children can receive quality education in a healthy environment.
“I am glad that children can enjoy the natural right to wash their hands with clean water. I hope that support for the sink at Danggesang Elementary School will become a channel of hope to protect the health of students and create a better learning environment.”
-Bang Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the World Educational Cultural Aid
The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to provide educational support and facility improvement activities so that children can study to their heart's content in a hygienic environment and plan a bright future.
