Review

Choir classes are being held at Wat Phra Chakasem School in Chiang Mai, Thailand with support from WECA. In an environment where cultural and artistic education opportunities are relatively lacking, children are experiencing new learning and hope through music.

The class started with a warm-up vocalization and continued with activities such as reviewing the staff and key names, learning notes and rests, and directly applying them to sheet music. Children are learning the basics of music step by step by singing what they learned through the ‘Airplane’ song through actual songs. Reading sheet music, which was unfamiliar to me at first, is gradually gaining confidence through repeated practice.

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, "Cultural education is a valuable asset that develops children's sensitivity and confidence. I hope that through choir, children will discover their own voices and have bigger dreams."

The World Educational Cultural Aid will continue to support cultural education so that Thai children can communicate with the world through music and sing for hope.
