The World Educational Cultural Aid (Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan) and the Yangcheon-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center (Center Director Kim Seong-young) decided to cooperate in supporting the underprivileged, including projects to improve the educational environment for children from low-income families.
According to the World Educational Cultural Aid, this agreement was signed to support replacement of wallpaper and flooring and furniture such as desks and bookshelves, especially items related to online learning, which have increased due to COVID-19, for children from low-income families who do not have a study environment in their residential spaces.
Kim Seong-young, director of the Yangcheon-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center, expressed his feelings, saying, "As schools were closed due to COVID-19, it was disappointing that children from many families were withdrawing from education. In particular, many families in difficult situations do not even have a proper environment to study, so I am grateful to have this opportunity to pursue a project with the World Educational Cultural Aid."
Bang Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the World Educational Cultural Aid, said, "Education has the power to end poverty. However, there are many children who cannot even access educational opportunities due to their limited environment, so we decided to pursue this project. We will work hard to ensure that more children can receive education in the future."
The World Educational Cultural Aid, an incorporated association, is a non-profit corporation under the jurisdiction of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, established in 2006. It works to support education for the underprivileged and spread a donation culture, and practices sharing through cultural exchange and cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations and institutions.
