As flood damage increased rapidly due to prolonged torrential rain, the World Educational Cultural Aid WECA stepped in to provide support to flood victims.

WECA, in cooperation with North Chungcheong Province organizations, prioritized multicultural families in Eumseong, Danyang, Jeungpyeong, Cheongju, Chungju, and Jecheon who were in urgent need of meals due to flood damage, and purchased and provided emergency relief necessities for 180 people.

Due to this heavy rain, the Chungcheongbuk-do region suffered great damage from not only flooding of houses, but also landslides, road loss, and embankment collapses, and was in desperate need of emergency flood recovery support. In particular, multicultural families were experiencing difficulties as they were sometimes excluded from various supports and benefits.

The person in charge of the Eumseong-gun Multicultural Family Support Center said, “We are grateful to the World Educational Cultural Aid WECA and its sponsors for providing emergency relief necessities to multicultural families suffering from heavy rain in the Eumseong area.”
