The World Educational Cultural Aid announced that it held the ‘2nd Multicultural Family Hangul Essay Contest’ to commemorate Hangul Day, commemorating the 575th anniversary of the promulgation of Hunminjeongeum.

This contest, organized by the World Educational Cultural Aid and Happy Giver and sponsored by the Gangseo-gu Healthy Family Multicultural Family Support Center, was held under the theme of ‘Best Memories of Living in Korea’ to help immigrants from multicultural families adapt to Korean society by sharing memorable and difficult but precious memories while living in Korea with others in Korean.

This event was a large-scale event with approximately 250 families participating, and was conducted non-face-to-face through mail and email in consideration of the social distancing measures due to COVID-19.

On the 8th, the awards ceremony was held non-face-to-face, and participants and winners had the opportunity to celebrate together in real time through a video conference system.

Meanwhile, the World Educational Cultural Aid is a non-profit corporation under the jurisdiction of the Office of Education approved by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and is working to support education for the underprivileged and spread a donation culture.
