[Beyond Post Reporter Kim Shin] On the 24th, the World Educational Cultural Aid provided food to victims of the Gangneung forest fire.
The World Educational Cultural Aid provided food to the Gangneung Ice Arena, an emergency shelter, for victims who lost their homes due to the Gangneung forest fire. At around 10 a.m. on April 11, a fire broke out in a hill in Nangok-dong, Gangneung, and strong winds spread the fire to the vicinity of Gyeongpodae.
Upon hearing the news, the World Educational Cultural Aid immediately dispatched an investigation team to determine the local damage and search for relief items for the victims. On April 24, 200 families of the victims were provided with enough convenient food to eat for two weeks to the shelter.
Bang Jeong-hwan, president of the World Educational Cultural Aid, expressed his condolences, saying, “I am heartbroken by the devastating news,” and “I sincerely hope that the affected areas will be rebuilt as soon as possible.”
In addition, an official from Gangneung City Hall who received the relief goods expressed gratitude, saying, "Thank you for your warm sharing. Thanks to your support, we will do our best to support the victims."
The World Educational Cultural Aid is an international relief non-profit organization that develops educational and cultural programs for children in educational blind spots around the world, practices sharing so that those in need can live with hope, and takes the lead in spreading the donation culture.
