[Global Epic Reporter Hwang Seong-su] The World Educational Cultural Aid held a warm briquette sharing event to help underprivileged families in Baeksa Village survive the winter.
The World Educational Cultural Aid delivered a total of 8,500 briquettes to 50 vulnerable households in Baeksa Village, Nowon-gu. Amid the news of an increase in heating costs and the continuing cold winter weather, a total of KRW 8,089,200 was raised through the warm sharing of 609 sponsors who participated in the Happy Bean Double Donation with Dongseo Foods, and the entire amount raised was used to cover the cost of the Baeksa Village briquette sharing event.
During the preparation period for this briquette sharing, we received a lot of calls inquiring about volunteer work, and as a result, as many as 82 volunteers participated. Volunteers revealed the reason for their volunteer participation, saying, ‘I was worried about the continuing cold wave.’ Despite the cold weather, many volunteers, including mothers and daughters, friends, and couples, came together as one and worked hard to pile briquettes in the empty briquette warehouse.

Bang Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the World Educational Cultural Aid, said, “The youth’s sharing relay is impressive,” and added, “The warm hearts of sponsors and volunteers became fuel, allowing our neighbors to survive the winter safely.” In addition, the World Educational Cultural Aid announced that it plans to continue to promote projects to support briquette and heating costs to help vulnerable families get through the winter.
The World Educational Cultural Aid is an international relief non-profit organization that develops sponsorship programs for children in educational blind spots around the world, practices sharing so that those in need can live with hope, and takes the lead in spreading the donation culture.
