[Beyond Post Reporter Kim Shin] The World Educational Cultural Aid announced that it supported history education on making Taegeukgi for children at local children's centers in celebration of Independence Movement Day last March.
A total of 100 children from 5 local children's centers participated in this training, and it was conducted in an easy and friendly way, focusing on various activities such as making the Taegeukgi, making a Taegeukgi clay piggy bank, and making blocks for people of national merit, tailored to the children's eye level.
March 1st, March 1st, is the day of our country's declaration of independence and is a national holiday to joyfully celebrate the start of the Republic of Korea. However, because schools start the new semester after March 1, there are few opportunities to receive education about Independence Movement Day. The World Educational Cultural Aid conducted this history education support project to revive the gradually disappearing culture of hoisting the Taegeukgi and to develop children's historical consciousness through proper education.
Children happily participating in education
“History education is more important than anything else for children growing up,” said Bang Jeong-hwan, president of the World Educational Cultural Aid. “We will continue to research various educational projects so that children can study history in an easy and fun way.”
The World Educational Cultural Aid is an international educational non-profit organization that develops educational and cultural programs for children in educational blind spots around the world, practices sharing so that those in need can live with hope, and is at the forefront of spreading a donation culture.
