On November 11th and 12th, the World Educational Cultural Aid sponsored Kimchi for Winter of Love for multicultural single-parent families.

While household difficulties are increasing due to the 24.1% increase in prices compared to last year, multicultural families are the most affected. Multicultural families, who have to run their households with relatively low wages, pay for fixed expenses such as monthly rent and heating costs, and the first thing they neglect is food expenses. Although they have to work hard and take responsibility for the household budget, the majority of multicultural families belonging to the underprivileged class have no choice but to make ends meet in an era of high inflation.

Chairman Bang Jeong-hwan said, “I hope that through this kimchi, children in Korea can grow up eating delicious meals. I am sincerely grateful to the many volunteers who came with us even in the cold weather.”

The World Educational Cultural Aid sponsored kimchi so that multicultural single-parent and grandparent families in rural areas, who are experiencing greater difficulties in making a living than in the cities, can eat at least a healthy diet.

The kimchi support for multicultural single-parent families to survive the winter of love was carried out on the 11th with about 50 volunteers gathered in Inje-gun making about 200 heads of kimchi (300kg) and delivering the shared kimchi to multicultural single-parent families and the Community Security Council in Inje-gun.

Children from one family who received kimchi drew cabbage with colored pencils in their sketchbooks and expressed their gratitude with the sentence, “WECA (World Educational Cultural Aid), thank you.”

The World Educational Cultural Aid plans to continue supporting projects for sharing and education that can provide more practical help to underprivileged families, children and youth in Korea.
